United Nations Development Fund for Women
All UNIFEM programmes support women’s human rights, because women suffer from
the denial of these rights around the world. With women in every region turning
to the Convention on the
Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) as a human
rights tool, UNIFEM works with women’s groups and governments to map shortfalls
in national implementation of the treaty, and put in place laws and policies to
uphold it. read more lea más et aussi

Budgeting
for Gender Equality (2005-09)
The issue: A budget is the most comprehensive
statement of a government’s social and economic plans and
priorities. In tracking where the money comes from and where it
goes, budgets determine who benefits from public resources, and how.
Although budgets are usually perceived as gender-neutral, a set of
numbers that impartially affect women and men, closer inspection
reveals that this is often not the case.
